這是美國人最喜歡吃的烤牛肋排,做起來很簡單,不用去美式餐廳吃,又貴得要命,自己做,愛吃多少就吃多少,我做完得藏起來,不然我在減肥中的男朋友 Sean 又要破功了,昨天乾媽 Michelle 從夏威夷回來,給我帶了只有夏威夷才買的到的椰子巧克力加夏威夷豆還有一些其它本土買不到的糖,我忙著打點這個週末要去滑雪的事宜,把這一大袋珍貴的糖忘在飯桌上了,你們有沒有經驗,回家時小貓小狗看來就是又幹了什麼壞事的那個我錯了的表情,昨晚我回來時,Sean 的表情就有點像那樣,後來老實告訴我,他吃了一堆糖,真是的~

 

 

材料

 

A材料

牛肋排,約3磅,切半      1

特製鹽(seasoning salt)         2 teaspoon

高湯                                      2 cup

蘋果汁                                  2 cup

 

B材料

美式烤肉醬                 2 cups

蘋果西打醋                  2 tablespoons

蜂蜜                              1 tablespoon

即溶咖啡                      1 teaspoon

 

作法

 

1. A材料放入一個大鍋中大火煮滾(液體要蓋過牛肋排),後轉中火繼續滾一個小時,將牛肋排撈出,每一根骨頭切成一份,放涼。

 

2. 預熱烤箱375度,將B材料混合拌勻,將牛肋排骨頭排到一個烤盤中,用刷子將B醬刷到牛肋排上,入烤箱烤20 分鐘,將烤盤拿出來,再刷一次B醬,進烤箱再烤10分鐘,剩餘的醬可以裝入小碗中放到盤中一起享用。

BBQ Beef Ribs

 

T’is American’s all time favorite, BBQ beef ribs.  This dish works for any occasion and there will never be enough of them to go around.  It’s super easy to make and if you have a grill in the backyard, hey, you don’t even need to heat up your oven.  Plus, charcoal grill adds a smoky flavor, and that’s not something an oven can duplicate.  

 

However, gotta hide these fabulous ribs.  My boyfriend, Sean is in a diet.  He ordered the Nutri-system and has been on it for a week.  Gosh…I had the illusion that with Nutri-System, I don’t even need to step into the kitchen.  Well, was I wrong! The program provided a chocolate bar for breakfast, another chocolate bar for lunch, and a mini box of food for dinner.  And I mean mini.  (There was a box of Ravioli, only 2 little ravioli)

 

For breakfast, on top of the little bar, I need to prepare two extra servings of carbohydrate, one serving of protein or dairy, one serving of fruits.  

 

Mid-morning snacks: I have to pack 1 serving of protein or dairy, 1 serving of fruits.  

Lunch: on top of that little bar, two servings of vegetable, one serving of fruits.

Afternoon snacks: one serving of protein or dairy, one serving of fruits.

Dinner: on top of little microwavable food, 2 servings of carbohydrate, 2 serving of vegetable, 1 serving of fruits.

After dinner snack: 1 little bar. 

 

Those little bars and microwavable food costs $300 a month.  What a hoax!  Don’t ever get it to save on the cost of food.  It will cost ya!!!!

 

Ingredients

 

A Group

1 rack beef back ribs (about 3 pounds total), cut in 1/2

2 teaspoon seasoning salt

2 cup broth

2 cup apple juice

 

B Group

2 cups store-bought BBQ sauce

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon instant coffee

 

Directions

 

1. Place all A group ingredients in heavy large pot. Add enough water to cover ribs and bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer gently until meat is tender, about 1 hour. Using tongs, remove rib racks from pot. Cool slightly. Cut between bones into individual ribs

 

2. Preheat oven to 350. Mix B Group ingredients well. 

 

3. Place ribs on a baking sheet.  Brush ribs with some of sauce. Bake uncovered at 350 for 20 minutes.  Remove baking sheet from oven, brush with more BBQ sauce, place the baking sheet back into the oven for an additional 10 minutes. 

 

 

Servings: Makes about 8 ribs.
